Development Innovation Lab

Setting

Development Innovation Lab (DIL), as an emmerging application, provides a collaborative working environment to test, prototype and scale breakthrough solutions for policy, strategies, methodology-tools, and development challenges that faced Nepal and the continent from a long time.

In convening the right collaborators, providing the tools and resources for research and development in the field and cultivating the conditions for solutions to be adopted at scale-this model is designed to create a pipeline of development innovation.

The DIL envisions bringing together the right mix of visionary companies, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and problem-solvers-to test big ideas in a very real context. Through high levels of communication, collaboration and trust, the DIL supports interdisciplinary, intercultural, and both national and international teams to respond to uncertainty with breakthrough solutions.

The DIL was established with the aim to explore and share local values, knowledge, and skills in the appropriate platform, contribute to the regional development, and to establish effective governance in the development sectors to deliver more effective, high-quality, and community-driven responses. Innovations that are born in the DIL are usually co-designed with vulnerable people, concerned authorities, stakeholders, and the local community.
